Fairness in assessment is very important. In order to assess a students performance the teacher has to be fair and not make any pre-judgements beforehand. Also, an assessment must also be based on a student to student bases. What is an improvement for one student who is struggling might be different from the top student in the class.

Assessment is a way of measuring how well a student performs on a project, test, or other graded assignment. It is important to both teachers and students becuase it aids the teacher in figuring out if the students grasped the idea of the lesson and if it is necessary to re-teach the lesson or if some students just need some extra help. It is a good thing to have either a formal or informal way of assessment since most children will not volunteer if they do not understand something because they are embarrased or just are afraid of being made fun of.
